It's tremendous to be included in this piece about American design capitals in Dwell Magazine.
I love putting deep thought into my passions, connecting with the spaces around me and striving to see an optimistic landscape. Being rewarded for that work is humbling and energizing.
It's huge to be seen as someone with a perspective beyond my craft. It's a powerful reminder to stay deeply curious, keep learning and to be receptive to opportunity. North Carolina is an interesting, changing place and I'm glad to be watching.
Also, thrilled to see my limestone work in print. I spend my youth swimming in quarries, feeding a wood stove on a limestone hearth and cutting limestone blocks to prop up sagging joists. Folding stone carving into my practice is deeply romantic, and I'm grateful for the warm reception.
